Many of us spend up to 90% of the day indoors: at home, at work, at school or in markets. The quality of the air we breathe in these spaces also has a direct effect on our health.

In recent decades, more detailed studies have been carried out on IAQ: profound qualitative and quantitative changes in IAQ have been found, with a progressive increase in absolute terms of contaminants.

The (IAQ) has been linked to symptoms such as: headaches, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, irritation of the eyes, nose, throat and lungs. Asthma has been linked to airborne contaminants from humid environments.

Other exposures, such as asbestos and radon, do not cause immediate symptoms but can lead to cancer after many years. In addition to microbiological risks and epidemics such as (flu, chickenpox, measles, pneumococcal pneumonia, legionellosis, psittacosis-ornithosis, etc.).

CLOSED PLACES AND OTHER RISK ENVIRONMENTS

In closed places the main risk is “bioaerosols“.

Bioaerosols are very fine particles suspended in the air, containing biological material, including toxins and microorganisms (such as bacteria and fungi). In addition to the particles dispersed in the air, the chances of contagion also depend on contact with surfaces.

In addition, another source of risk due to (bioaerosols) are air conditioning systems, where Legionella pneumophila can be contracted in dirty ducts and air filters. Periodic sanitizing treatments with adequate disinfectants must be carried out to eliminate your risk.

In Italy, due to the global crisis of energy resources, measures have been implemented for better insulation, sealing of internal environments, substitution of natural ventilation methods and artificial lighting to reduce energy consumption. Unfortunately, these measures have proven to be an irritating factor for air quality by increasing indoor pollutants.

Indoor pollutants:

  • Man and his activities.
  • The correct balanced ventilation.
  • Problems to control the temperature.
  • High or low humidity.
  • Remodeling and construction materials.
  • Cleaning and maintenance products, pesticides or other chemical products.
  • The use of work tools such as printers, plotters and photocopiers.
  • Air treatment systems, which can become a breeding ground for molds and other biological contaminants and can spread these agents throughout the building.

AMIL Care FOR INDOOR AIR QUALITY (IAQ)

Medisystem is a patented and certified high-level disinfection system in accordance with current regulations, for the sanitization and disinfection of air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems.

Our system combines Class I (CE marked/FDA registered) automatic dispensing devices micro-nebulizers with (2 to 4 nozzles) and our ready-to-use Eco-friendly chemical solutions. It provides high-level disinfection with “NO TOUCH” technology capable of treating volumes from 10 to 10,000 m3 (350 to 350,000 ft3).

An optimal air condition quality must meet both physical properties (temperature, humidity, ventilation) and chemical properties (“clean” or “fresh” air).

From the hygienic-sanitary point of view: an environmental condition is to be considered acceptable not only when the main microclimatic parameters are in the normal range, but when there are no specific contaminants of harmful concentrations in the air.
